Abstract from IRS Publication 526 - Page 17:
Cash Contributions
Cash contributions include those paid by cash, check, electronic funds transfer, debit card, credit card, or payroll deduction.
You can't deduct a cash contribution, regardless of the amount, unless you keep one of the following.
1. A bank record that shows the name of the qualified organization, the date of the contribution, and the amount of the contribution. Bank records may include:
a. A canceled check,
b. A bank or credit union statement, or
c. A credit card statement.
2. A receipt (or a letter or other written communication) from the qualified organization showing the name of the organization, the date of the contribution, and the amount of the contribution.
3. The payroll deduction records described next.
Contributions of $250 or More
You can claim a deduction for a contribution of $250 or more only if you have an acknowledgment of your contribution from the qualified organization or certain payroll deduction records.
If you made more than one contribution of $250 or more, you must have either a separate acknowledgment for each or one acknowledgment that lists each contribution and the date of each contribution and shows your total contributions.
What is the process to obtain a written acknowledgment acceptable to the IRS for items or services purchased for the church as a donation?
Speak to the church treasurer or submit a question using the Contact form.
See IRS Charitable Contributions Publication 526

Support Groups
Do Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) meetings take place at the church?

Tuesday 7:00pm Open Beginners Design for Living Group
-
Wednesday 12:00pm Open Beginner's Step Group
-
Wednesday 7:00pm Open As Bill Sees It Group
-
Sunday 7:00pm Closed 12 Steps to Recovery Group
Nonalcoholic guests are welcome at “open” AA meetings. Attendance at “closed” meetings is limited to those who are alcoholic or think they may have a drinking problem. At meetings, AA members share their recovery experience with anyone seeking help with a drinking problem, and give person-to person services or “sponsorship” to the alcoholics coming to A.A. The A.A. program, as set forth in the Twelve Steps to recovery, offers the alcoholic an opportunity to develop a satisfying way of life free from alcohol. More information at ct-aa.org.
